Every cook-out needs a little fashion statement, right?

Parisian Macaroons

These little yummy treats are to die for.  I might need to take a break from my day job and go get a little snack.   My favorite flavor is usually either raspberry or chocolate but I like to try them all.

Tub Time

Who wouldn't want to have a little tub time in this bathroom after a long stressful day at work?  I don't know if I would ever get out of it.  This elegant and regal tub is made of nickle.

My New Crush

I have a major crush on this style of table.  It's not my normal style but I've been seeing it a lot lately paired with very traditional chairs.  It's a little bit of modern and a little bit of traditional.  I have no clue where I found these images.

Inspire Me Wednesday

I recently came across some amazing fabric and it inspired me to add it to my bedroom.  You might find it familiar.  Hopefully in the next few weeks, I can get around to making a pillow for my bed with this fabric.  I'll post pictures when the project is complete and show you how simple it is to make your own pillows. In the meantime, here is the fabric.

Oh, I got it on sale for $6/yard...can you believe that?  It had been $36/yard.  I love when I find great deals.

Home Tour Tuesday

This fabulous swedish apartment is so light and airy. How amazing is that little kitchen?

I love how the neutral tones open up the space.

Casual Date with the Boy

Great finds

In the June issue of Martha Stewart Living I came across the greatest invention ever!  Made from 100% cotton, supplied on a tear off roll just like papers towels, you tear off a napkin as you need it.  Someone finally found a way to class up the paper towel.

Daily Inspiration

In my down time, I read magazines and other blogs for inspiration for my own home.  Lately, I've been drawn to all things pink and turquoise.  At first, it was just turquoise but my apartment was too one dimensional and I just couldn’t put my finger on what was missing.  You know how in a relationship that isn’t going anywhere and you wonder what is missing?  I had that same feeling with my apartment. Until, I stumbled upon this great find my home was lost in a dead end relationship with me.  I was in Home Goods with A.E., my friend, and this is what crossed our path that day.  This is what was missing in my relationship with my home.

Ever since this little chair came into my life, I’ve been inspired to take my home from a one dimensional apartment to a two dimensional apartment.

By the way, this chair only set me back $150.  I recommend you check out a Home Goods near you.

First Post of Inspiration

I desperately needed a creative outlet and the first thing that came to my mind is to start a blog. So here it is, let me know what you think. I welcome you with open arms and I hope you get inspired to add a little color to your life. Most people that know me probably wonder if I have color in my life…well, I do believe it or not. Now I know what you are thinking. My closet is full of black but if you’ve ever been in my home you would know I do have color in my life. To me, color in the home is a breath of fresh air. I am going to work on that for my closet though.

I am completely obsessed with all things peonies and tulips, hence the name of my blog. I find a peony delicate and intricate while the tulip reminds me of that first warm day after a long cold, snowy winter.

As soon as peonies are in season, I am the first person at Whole Foods grabbing some up.  Here is what i got yesterday afternoon.  Sorry for the horrible quality of the picture.  My camera is really old and decided to not work properly for me today. Aren't they beautiful though?

So join me on my little adventure as I explore color for your home and closet.
